Sizing Your Ring

Standard Sizes

Each ring made at Custom Ring Designs is custom made to your exact specifications when you order it.

Therefore, each ring is also handcrafted and custom made individually to the exact ring size requested at the time of your purchase, and they are in exact measurement according to jeweler standards.

So, PLEASE, be sure of your ring size!  In order for us to provide you with the best buying experience possible, please, do not guess at your ring size.  As a courtesy, any jeweler or department store will be happy to properly size you at no cost.

Standard ring sizes on titanium and tungsten bands are:
4, 4½, 5, 5½, 6, 6½, 7, 7½, 8, 8½, 9, 9½, 10, 10½,
11, 11½, 12, 12½, 13, 13½, 14, 14½, 15, 15
½, 16

 We also do quarter sizes!

Do you need a LARGER or smaller size? Never a problem!  At Custom Ring Designs, we understand the problems faced by people who need unique size rings.  That's why we cater to ring sizes up to size 16.  And, if you can't get your finger properly sized, we will send you gauges so that you can accurately size yourself and order your ring, all we ask is a small deposit for the return of our gauges.  We will also make your new titanium or tungsten ring in a quarter size if you are in between the standard ring sizes.

But, please be sure of your ring size. In order to provide you with the best buying experience possible we ask that you do not guess at your ring size.  Due to the hardness and durability of the material, titanium and tungsten can not be resized.  Each of our rings are handcrafted and custom made individually to the exact ring size you request at the time of your purchase, and they are exact in measurement according to jeweler standards.  Therefore, we cannot accept returns due to improper ring size requests.

We thank you for your consideration with this policy, because it allows us to provide you with a unique, custom made ring at a reasonable price.

  Tips for a proper fitting:

The most important factor in a proper fitting is the use of metal gauges, not paper, as paper gauges have a large margin of error.  As a courtesy, a jeweler of department store will be happy to size you with a metal gauge.

When measuring, make sure your hand is no warmer or cooler than room temperature, and make sure no rings were being worn on the finger to be sized for at least an hour before sizing in order to allow the finger to fill out.  When measuring, the drag (when the ring gauge is slid over the knuckle) should be snug, but not tight. Overall, the fit over the finger should be comfortable, neither tight nor loose.

A thumb ring should also be measured with a ring gauge.  Measure the drag over the knuckle, it should be snug but not too tight. When the ring falls in the well of the thumb arch, it will loosen greatly. You can tighten the fit by having the band widened so it spans the arch, but do not go so wide as to restrict movement while bending your thumb. Ten to twelve millimeter widths are the maximum on most hands.

  Interior Options:

Traditional Fit Interior:

A traditional fit interior is a straight interior.  It lies flat against your finger and has the lowest profile.  If you are reaching into a pair of jeans for something, you are not going to catch this style of ring on a pocket.  It has a 1.2mm to 1.5mm wall thickness.

Thick-walled Traditional Fit Interior:

A thick-walled traditional is a 2mm thick straight interior, making this a substantial, chunky ring.  The benefit of such a thick ring is that it can easily be resized to larger ring sizes without affecting the ring's appearance.

Comfort Fit Interior:

A comfort fit interior is a reduction of the interior that leaves a reduced center contact point against your finger.  Basically, it is a thick-walled traditional interior that leaves an air gap for more breathing room against your finger.  For example, a 10mm ring may have a 6mm contact point, leaving the remaining material raised away from your finger.

  Finish Options:

  Satin-brushed Finish:

Our satin-brushed finish has very slight brush strokes that go with the "grain" of the metal.  It gives both Titanium and Tungsten a very clean, contoured, and classic finish that is easy to care for.

Coarse Satin-brushed Finish:

The coarse satin-brushed has more pronounced brush strokes.  It gives both Titanium and Tungsten a contoured, yet less refined finish that is easy to care for.

Satin-frost Finish:

The satin-frost finish has a very, very, fine satin appearance with no noticeable brush strokes.  It gives both Titanium and Tungsten a very clean, light-gathering finish that is easy to care for.
